This piece in particular was completely unknown to me before I ran across it in the Music and Theatre Library of Sweden’s digital archives. It is a setting of a traditional Swedish song of the same name with text by Erik Axel Karlfeldt (1864–1931). This is a compact two-minute long setting of the song with all the typical characteristics of Helena Munktell’s work: chromaticism, lyrical melodies, and significant amounts of string divisi in her lush late Romantic style.
